Peterborough Beer Festival Mobile App Ready!

2016-logoWell it’s just 10 days at time of writing until the 39th Peterborough CAMRA beer festival, and therefore it’s “officially” time to start getting excited!  I’ve just finished updating the mobile app I created for it, and the database now contains all this year’s drinks lists (wine, cider & perry, bottled beers and cask beers).

Technically it’s not really an app, just a mobile website optimised for phones and tablets – it even works on computers.  So visit it and bookmark the url on your phone so it’s ready for you when you’re at the festival;  http://beerfestapp.kristianbrown.co.uk/   You can pre-set your ‘wish-list’ of beers upfront, as long as you do that on the device you’ll take to the festival with you!

Brand new this  year is the Key-Keg bar – run by Bexar County brewer “Texas” Steve.  Really looking forward to that!  I’ve listed the 45ish kegkeg beers in the app, and there’s some really exciting craft beers in there – I’ll definitely be enjoying quite a few of those!

I’m also one of the official judges who will be judging the champion beers again this year, thanks to Bram who will be running the tasting panel.

EX-CAMRA member and real ale and craft ale fan. I've left CAMRA as I feel they've become more about gaining members (and money) and their petty narrowmindedness around the whole craft/keykeg/cask puts me off them. Good beer is good beer! I do the odd brew myself - having spent a couple of grand more than I should on home brew kit (Braumeister and SS Brewtech gear). Always learning about the craft and the ingredients. I've a blog post here about a day with a local craft brewer making a new beer. I can often be found propping up the bar at Peterborough's best (only) craft beer bar, The Stoneworks. 22 lines of great beer, and decent gin too! I'm probably known by too many of my hometown's landlords, oops. I created the local CAMRA Peterborough Beer festival mobile web app several years ago, and am a regular festival judge helping pick the champion beers. Developer (PHP, Wordpress, Java), Webmaster of many sites, husband and cat owner. I also help put on DIY Punk gigs in my spare time, as part of group of mates called "The Scary Clown Presents...".
